8) Unofficial race entry

Today I entered a race.

It doesn’t charge but I paid a small fee.

There are no marshalls.

No official route, though it’s two miles long.

No timing chip.

No official start time, though it’s on 23rd June 2012.

No goodie bag at the end.

Oh… and it’s been organised by a six-year old.

Here he is:

His name is Joel. You can read why he’s doing it by •clicking this link•

My boy is 6 too so it resonated with me. Good on you, Joel.

If you like, you can do what I’m doing and also run 2 miles on 23rd June and pay whatever ‘entry fee’ you like just by donating on Joel’s site >;>;HERE<;<;

Or… don’t, that’s fine. But go and visit the site anyway. It’s heart-warming.

(and I didn’t even mention a triathlon once in this post)

    there’s a remarkable resemblance between those six year olds. I’ve put the 2 miles on my race calendar and will have to figure out the km equivalent. Does a sprint tri count? And I visited the poor box. there’s enough love to go around if we just take a moment to share. I’ll let my running friends in the US know about this human race. 🙂
